A wildflower is a flower with the aim of grows wild, connotation it was not intentionally seeded or planted. Yet "wildflower" meadows of a small number of sundry species are sold in seed packets. The designate "wildflower" has been made vague by advertisement seeds men who are interested in promotion more flowers or seeds more extravagantly than whilst labeled with solitary its refer to and/or origin. The designate implies with the aim of the plant probably is neither a hybrid nor a selected cultivar with the aim of is in some way diverse from the way it appears in the wild as a native plant, even if it is growing someplace it would not unpretentiously.
"Wildflower" is not an exact designate. Terms like native species (naturally occurring in the area, see flora), exotic or, better, introduced species (not unpretentiously occurring in the area), of which selected are labeled insidious species (that out-compete other plants - whether native or not), imported (introduced to an area whether calculatingly or accidentally) and naturalized (introduced to an area, but in a jiffy considered by the shared as native) are much more accurate.
Clothed in the United Kingdom, the organization Plant life International instituted in 2002 the County Flowers scheme whereby members of the shared nominated and voted in place of a wild flower emblem in place of their region. The aspiration was to allotment awareness of the heritage of native species and not far off from the need in place of conservation, as selected of these species are rare. For instance, Somerset has adopted the Cheddar Pink (Dianthus gratianopolitanus), London the Rosebay Willow herb (Chamerion angustifolium) and Denbighshire/Sir Ddinbych in Wales the rare Limestone Woundwort.
